I'm getting that black moa to go with my warrior.
My mesmer would have the white tiger.
My monk would get the normal tiger.
As of now
My ranger has a wolf and it would stay that way.
My necro has the spider from the UW.

I think the black moa is the spider equivalent. Just like for the spider, you have to do a quest in a high-level area... not to mention the moa quest is a lot more time-consuming than getting to the second monument in UW.

White Tiger
Normal Tiger
Black Moa Bird
Reef Crabe
Crane (Can be charmed on what I heard.)
That all I see for now
There a thread about Animal that I forgot the link. All animals has the same stats except the damage during the attack, the speed (Talk about the bear) and how you involve it (Hearty,Dire or Elder).

I remember in one Gaile Chat before the weekend she said that all she could tell us was a crane, a tiger, and a panda bear.

*sighs* The quote from Gaile you're refering to said we would get 2 types of tigers, 2 types of crabs, a crane, and some unannounced extras.
After the event we know that the two tigers are different color variations and that there are similar color variations among the crabs we get. The crane is a pretty black and white one near the beginning, and at least one of the "unannounced" pets is a Black (punk-rock) Moa.
There are still other secret pets, one of which is likely to be gotten via long and tedious Luxon quest as a balance point to the Black Moa (oh please, anything but a blue moa... ).
To restate, the Panda Bear started in the "what pets would you like to see?" thread, NOT from Gaile Gray or any other official ANet source.

I'll edit this post up when the search comes up, I clearly remember Gaile saying that a few weeks ago.

Dragons are supposed to be intelligent mythical creatures with a will of their own. They're not an animal in the conventional sense. They are not an animal like a bear or tiger. They won't follow a human, as they would never allow themselves to be tamed. Even giant crabs and spiders are more acceptable to me than a miniature dragon.
A ranger taming a dragon, even a miniature one, is too far fetched.

Before anyone says, "It's just a game, its not real" I believe that Anet has strictly kept to mythology in the outer world, and that is always how Asian type dragons are portrayed. Just a preemptive defense.

Personally, I want a snake. A huge boa or rattler or cobra. Obviously it wouldn't poison for balance reasons. But still. A snake would rock.
